What are Hardcover Books?
Hardcover books feature a sturdy, rigid 2.4mm board wrapped cover that protects the pages inside and gives the book a premium, long-lasting feel.
Which Binds can you hardcover?
We can produce hardcover books with all our binding types except saddle stitch. Whether you choose perfect bound, spiral, wiro, or section-sewn interiors, Printbooks has the perfect hardcover solution for your next project.
What stocks can I Use?
Most hardcover books are produced with 170 gsm coated paper, which we laminate for extra protection and durability. We can also use coloured papers, leather, textured, and other speciality stocks for the cover to create a truly unique finish.
What finishes can I have?
In addition to our specialty stocks, we can finish coated papers in matte, gloss, or velvet for a refined, professional look.
Do you foil and deboss?
Yes, at Printbooks, we can foil and deboss our hardcovers. Foiling is available in both digital and hot foil options — visit our Foiling page or contact us to learn more.
Do you do endsheets?
Yes — unlike some printers who glue the bookblocks directly to the covers, we use an endsheet process to create hinged front and back covers. Whether you choose printed or unprinted endsheets, this ensures our hardcovers open easily and retain a professional, high-quality finish.
How long does it take?
