Why Saddle Stitch?
Saddle Stitching is a fast cost-effective binding method ideal for lower page count books and booklets. It creates a durable bind that provides a clean, professional finish.
Which books use saddle stitching?
Saddle stitching is ideal for booklets, brochures, magazines, catalogues, zines and any smaller publications.
Can you do Custom sizes?
We can saddle-stitch books in any custom sizes, ranging from A6 to A4, available in both portrait and landscape formats.
What page counts can you do?
Saddle-stitched books are perfect for shorter publications, typically ranging from 8 to 64 pages, depending on paper thickness. At Printbooks, we can saddle stitch up to 200 pages with 80gsm stock; however, for higher page counts, alternative binding methods may provide a more durable and professional finish.
What Stocks do you recommend?
Saddle-stitched books pair beautifully with all our stock options. Please keep in mind that uncoated and recycled stocks may show a little extra cracking along the folded edges.
Can you square the spine?
Yes we can produce saddle-stitched books with a squared spine, reducing page spring and giving the books a more refined, professional finish. Please note that this must be requested, and we don't automatically square every project.
How long does it take?
